Tuspark UK and Cambridge Science Park collaborated with Expature held the 4th China Series Event: Lunch & Learn – Succeeding in China with Cultural Intelligence.
We were delighted to have Expature, which is focusing on helping individual and corporate to overcome culture barriers. Speakers – Eva Tarabichi and Zarine Jacob, who have been helping people develop cultural intelligence. In the event, they combined their rich experience to address how culture influences succeeding, and how to use cultural intelligence to conduct business successfully in China.
Eva, who is an intercultural coach and trainer, carries a degree in Sinology and has worked in both Beijing and Shanghai. She addressed culture differences through comparing the daily life in different countries, such as how people do business communication in the UK, Germany and China. She mentioned, ignore cultural differences will seriously affect business success and effectiveness. At the end of her speech, she advised, to be aware of the culture differences and treat it correctly, as well as to understand different cultures will reduce the risk of failure of businesses.
Zarine, is an experienced leadership coach & facilitator across cultures for over 16 years, designing & delivering leadership development work internationally. Different from Eva’s perspective, Zarine used some cases to address how culture shapes the way of thinking in different cultural contexts. She applied knowledge of Neuroscience – how human’s brain works to build relationships as well as combined culture differences to indicate the importance of intercultural as well as how to use cultural intelligence to obtain business success.
